Hello Fishbowl Friends!
I thought today I would give you a little background about Fishbowl in order to help you understand where we as a company are going…
At Fishbowl we’ve always felt that there was a huge need for advanced IT software for “Bigger, Small companies”. Very small businesses (0-$2mil/year) have QuickBooks for accounting, inventory control and contact management. And larger companies 
($50mil/year and more) have lots of options with Mas90, Accpac, MS Dynamics and many more. But in that niche of companies that do from $2mil-$50mil per year, the option has been to stay with QuickBooks and try to force it to do something it wasn’t designed to do, (and jerry-rig what it can’t), or to drop QuickBooks (a huge fear for small business owners), bite the bullet, and completely retrain the business on an entirely new, often complex, system that may be overkill for what they really need.
For companies in this space inventory quantity and variety may go up as they grow, the complexity of the inventory may increase (serial/lot #s, expiration dates), they may start manufacturing in-house or outsourcing production, they may open a store front, the number of customers may get to the point where they just can’t properly track all their customers, the list goes on and on. It’s that no-man’s land of devoted QuickBooks users who wish to stay with QuickBooks as they grow, that Fishbowl software and services are designed help.
So what’s the point of all the above???
The point is that Fishbowl is gradually becoming the enterprise-level software for the “Bigger, Small company”. That’s where the need is and that’s where we want to be. Our focus is no longer just inventory (you may have noticed that our company name is now Fishbowl, no longer Fishbowl Inventory) and we are fast moving into many new areas designed to address the needs of this market. My guess is you may not have heard of what we’ve already done, or what we plan to do shortly, so here’s the list and not necessarily a comprehensive list. Details will be provided in subsequent posts:
